One thing about cooking. . .IT'S NOT FOR EVERYBODY! However, it can be for everybody with the right tools and knowledge and luckily for you, I want to share all the information I have! This cookbook, is a way to meet the needs of people who want to create delicious, flavorful meals without breaking the bank. This digitally downloaded cookbook features 5 appetizers, 5 entrees, 5 sides, and 5 desserts that can all be made for less that 20 dollars! I made sure that most recipes are portioned for 2-4 for people because most cookbooks have you cooking for 20 people and I was trying to be as realistic as possible lol |
My mom was a single mom and worked full-time, so it was hard for her to really have time to cook. We often ate out or ate store brought meals like the banquet meals, hamburger helper (YUCK), ETC. As if times weren't already hard, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was in middle school, which caused her to not be able to work and be on an even tighter budget than before . I watched her go from buying pre-made meals, to her cooking from scratch, while going through chemotherapy. To say I was AMAZED is an understatement. Not only did she become my inspiration on strength, but she taught me that cooking with fresh ingredients was sometimes cheaper and more flavorful then just grabbing it off the shelf or out of the freezer section. That passion and interest, turned into wanting to become a chef.
After graduating from culinary school and working a few odd jobs, in November 2018, I was privileged enough to begin working for my alma mater, Johnson & Wales University where I was a culinary admissions presenter. My Job was to give high school students information about preparing for college, while also sharing my culinary experiences by cooking live for their classes. I quickly realized, they were more interested in learning how to cook then actually listening about college. The students as well as the teachers always asked about flavorings, seasonings, and expanding their cooking techniques while emphasizing not wanting to spend too much money. After starting my website and putting a few recipes out, I've been getting an overwhelmingly amount of questions about how to make certain dishes for the low low so I decided it was my time to share what I have to offer!
